The Beginning

The Texas Association of Homeowners

The Texas Association of Homeowners was founded by Austin homeowner and real estate broker Aaron Farmer in January of 2006. Mr. Farmer’s fight for the Texas homeowner goes back to 2002 when he successfully sued the Texas Real Estate Commission over anti-consumer, anti-competitive rules they had passed.

While the power (and money) of the real estate lobby in the Texas government eventually prevailed in the Summer of 2005, Mr. Farmer was able to gain National attention about competitive issues in the real estate brokerage industry, even getting the Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission to investigate the industry closer and even take up his cause in Texas.

While trying to spread his message of insider domination in Texas, Mr. Farmer looked around and noticed that there was no single organization in Texas that looked out just for the Texas Homeowner.

Being involved in real estate on a daily basis, Aaron noticed many other significant issues that affect homeowners, but that the everyday Texas Homeowner had no strong voice to protest.

That is the goal of the Texas Association of Homeowners, unite the homeowner and take the power back from the all powerful special interests that dominate Texas today.

We need your help join today!

Why Is It Free?
We want to keep the Texas Association of Homeowners free, for now, because there is a sense of power and safety in numbers.  The more members that we have, the better chance we have of making a real difference, and that is the ultimate goal.

It sounds much better when we address an issue and can say we are the Texas Association of Homeowners and we have 10,000 members, than saying we have only 250 members, but they all pay dues.

Did you Know?

Texas ranks 44th out of 50 states in the rate of home ownership.  Only 63% of Texans own a home.
